In keeping with our founder’s dedication to teach Black History, the members of the James Weldon Johnson Branch of ASALH will teach our history.

In February 2024, we launched our Black History Freedom School Pilot Program and each Saturday through April 17th, we hosted children from our community for lunch and for lessons from the Black History 365 Curriculum.

We will start our 2026 -2027 Black History Freedom School on October 3, 2026. Please see our flyer.
